The Fall Line

The Fall Line
In order to ski is very important to know what the fall line is, specially for snowboarding.

So the fall line consists in an imaginary line down a mountain or hill which is usually directly downwards. In this line there is a natural path wherein gravity makes an object to roll down.

This means that if you let a ball or snowball roll down a hill or mountain, it would go down the fall line.

The rule of thumb with regard to the fall line, which say: "The more parallel you Snowboard's position is to the fall line, the faster you will go, and if it is perpendicular, the slower you will go, but if your board is perpendicular to the fall line, you will come to a complete stop".
