Side-stepping

Side-stepping
Through of Side-stepping you will be able to move uphill with your Skis on. For which, you should keep your Skis perpendicular to the Fall line so you will not slide backwards. Below, you will find an explanation more detailed.

  • STEP 1: Once you are positioned across the Fall line of the slope with Skis parallel to each other and perpendicular to the Fall line. Dig your Ski edges into the snow to keep you from sliding.
  • STEP 2: At first, make small steps. Shift your weight on your downhill Ski in slight way. Then step up with your uphill Ski and let its edge dig into the snow.
  • STEP 3: Finally shift your weight on your uphill Ski and then move your lower Ski upward. After, also you can use your downhill pole to maintain balance. And this way, you will walk sideways until you reach the area where you want to be.
