The purpose of T.P.A.A.S. is a multiple-phased plan that will enhance the safety of backcountry users, mountain rescue groups and avalanche forecasting in Turnagain Pass by compiling aerial photographs in the Turnagain Pass corridor for each run, drainage and avalanche path from The Turnagain Arm South to Johnson Pass, East to Placer Valley and West to Seattle Creek. The best estimation is there are more than 75 paths to document, name and field truth for latitude, longitude and elevation. Information on run out distances will involve path history, and current/past vegetation.
