National Outdoor Leadership School
When NOLS students step into the world's wild places, they carry not only their backpacks, but also the weight of nearly 40 years of experience in expeditions. NOLS founder Paul Petzoldt's idea was simple: take people into the wilderness for an extended period of time, teach them the right things, feed them well and when they walk out of the mountains, they will be skilled leaders.
Services:
Classes teach you responsible, comfortable outdoor living, whether it's 30°F above or 30°F below. You'll build and live in snow shelters: igloos, snow caves or quinzhees. The skiing and snowboarding can be excellent, and we focus on safety in avalanche terrain. By the end, you'll have a newfound mastery of a whole new set of skills.
